Babes and Bitches: Redefining the Strong Female Character

With the popularity of books like The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Children of Blood and Bone, there’s a lot of discussion about ‘strong female characters’, especially in young adult books. However, this label is often applied very narrowly and in a way that reinforces stereotypes instead of breaking them. Panelists: Britney Morris, Somaiya Daud, Rachel Lynn Solomon, Gabrielle Byrne, Joy McCullough, Julia Nobel
